Those who pray here report that they experience a unique sense of G_d’s presence. It is the only remaining wall of the Second Jewish Temple that once stood on this site before it was destroyed when the Romans laid siege to Jerusalem in the year 70 CE. The Wall is also the location closest to the Temple Mount — the location of both the First and the Second Holy Temples — where Jews are permitted to pray today.
